“Join Rob for a one-way 10 km hike from Moore Falls to Devil’s Lake via Queen’s Corridor. This hike will showcase a segment of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail within Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park. The Queen’s Corridor follows what was once a hydro line but now serves as an excellent hiking trail.
Meet up at Devil’s Lake trailhead (GPS coordinates: 44.8598, -78.815)
at 8:45 a.m. and park on the shoulder of Devil’s Lake Road (100 metres from intersection with Deep Bay Road). From there we will organize a car shuttle to Moore Falls where the hike begins. Pack a snack/light lunch and bring a litre or two of fluid. Dress in layers and wear sturdy hiking boots. There is a thunder box at Devil’s Lake trailhead.
Group size limited to 12. Prize for best winter joke or pun.”
Bring snowshoes, but we may decide to leave them in the car depending on “day-of” snow conditions. “Icers” (crampons/traction cleats) are essential for icy, well-packed trails. Hiking poles are recommended.
